When you join C R E A T I V E O A S I S today, you’ll get access to our:

• Cocoons: Cocoons are separate spaces for different topics and identities for you to connect specifically with those who share the same interests and identities as you. For example, we have specific cocoons for interests such as Knitting, Quilting, and Natural Dyeing as well as identity-specific cocoons for members who are LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and neuro-divergent. Want to create a new cocoon - just ask!
• Exclusive Workshops: The Oasis is proud to host regular exclusive workshops with guest artists that are included in your low monthly membership fee. You automatically get access to the workshop the month you join (plus some free bonus workshops!) and some past workshops will be available to purchase individually. You will have forever access to the workshop recordings for the months when you were a paying member! Some past workshops include: Brioche Basics with Sopranoknits and Painting with Yarn: an introduction to Punch Needle with Francoise Danny.
• Live Zoom Calls: We regularly host Zoom calls (weekly or bi-weekly) where we chat and make together virtually! All calls are open to all members and if you don't see a call that works for your time zone and schedule, you can volunteer to 'host' a call and connect with others via our community's Zoom membership at a time that works perfectly for you!
• Incredibly Diverse and Supportive Community: The Creative Oasis is an inclusive, safe space for creatives to be together in community away from the noise and distraction of social media. Our various spaces and live events provide ample opportunity for genuine connection that extends beyond the digital realm. The amount of true support and encouragement seen everyday in the community is truly rare in our digital lives and something to be celebrated!

I'm Becky - a queer, multi-passionate creative and professional artist currently based in Bordeaux, France. I'm a professional opera singer and sing full-time in an opera chorus. I love that work but it was never the only thing I wanted to do. While traveling a lot, a colleague taught me to knit and that passion evolved into my knitwear design brand Sopranoknits which I've been running for the past 8+ years. I've also gotten really into garment sewing, watercolor painting, natural dying, quilting, and gardening on my urban terrace. 

A common thread through all of my work has been the pursuit of beauty and doing the most I can to express my creative joy while having the least environmental impact. I've also realised that my past experiences as a community facilitator and educator in creative realms have been my most fulfilling experiences and areas where I possess strength and can guide others to see the change they want to see in their creative practices. I've become increasingly frustrated and exhausted by the noise and distraction of social media and how it ceases to truly connect us and so - Creative Oasis was born!

I created Creative Oasis for people like us - life-long learners and passionate explorers of our unique creativity. As someone who has experienced the challenges of finding a community that celebrates and nurtures creative diversity, I'm committed to creating a space where like-minded individuals can come together, learn from each other, and connect on a deeper level.

Join me on this journey to explore, learn, and create beauty in the world while staying mindful of our environmental impact. I can't wait to co-create this space with you!

The vision of our community is to create an inclusive space that nurtures creativity and connection while being anti-capitalist, anti-social media, and lifting up and supporting independent artists. We are committed to doing so in a way that remains financially accessible to all. Your membership fees go directly to paying the artists who facilitate our workshops so your participation in this community makes a tangible difference to creatives in our sphere. 

The big, juicy, long-term goal is to have a physical home for Creative Oasis in addition to our digital space. A space in the mountains to host artist retreats, creative events, and in-depth workshops and retreats in service of our goal of nurturing creative practices centred in community, rest, and rejuvenation. The physical space will create even more opportunities for independent artists to earn a sustainable income while connecting with others in a stunning natural environment.
